Responsibility for Rental Vehicle
FVR holds the renter responsible for the safe return of the rental vehicle in the same condition as it was rented, except for normal wear and tear. Unless prohibited by law, a renter may be held responsible for all damages, including loss of use should the vehicle be damaged in an accident, stolen or vandalised. This is the case regardless of fault. The renter may also be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck or loss. Be sure any estimated damage to the vehicle has been recorded properly before leaving the rental location.
Collision damage waiver insurance
The hirer can purchase collision damage waiver insurance. An option, that if purchased at an additional charge per day or included in your reserved rate, eliminates responsibility for damage to or loss of a FVR vehicle as long as terms of the rental agreement have not been violated.
Collision Damage Waiver is referred to as Damage Liability Waiver for rentals in the UK.
Collision Damage Waiver is NOT insurance.
It covers any damage to or loss of the rental vehicle.
Exclusions to collision damage waiver are any overhead height damage to any of our vehicles, tyre damage or punctures, glass damage costs, or driving without due care and attention, negligence and dangerous driving in any of our vehicles. All costs incurred by us will be passed onto the customer and charged directly to the credit or debit card that was used when the booking was placed.
